Noreen Jacks comes to us with thirty years of Bible
teaching, a passion for the Word of God and visions of hope for those in
need of spiritual restoration. She holds a Master’s Degree in
Religious Studies from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. Her academic interests include: biblical archaeology, cultural
anthropology, linguistics and the history of the Bible lands and its
inhabitants. Noreen’s multiple travels throughout the Middle East are
readily shared with her readers who benefit from the spiritual insight
provided by her experiences. In addition to twenty years of ministry
with the Woodland Women’s Connection Club (formerly Christian Women’s
Club), Noreen teaches weekly Bible studies at her church and bi-weekly
Bible studies at a women’s correctional facility. She and her husband,
Bruce, serve together on the advisory board of the developing Woodland
Museum of Biblical Archaeology. Noreen’s next great adventure will
be to host tour groups to the Bible lands with her husband. The couple
also plans to participate in the excavation of the proposed site of
ancient Sodom, located at Tall el-Hammam, north-east of the Dead Sea in
Jordan.

About Promises from
the Olive Tree
“Your wife shall be a fruitful vine within your house,
your
children like olive plants around your table.”
PSALM 128:3
This
verse is a pledge of hopefulness to parents desiring to raise godly
children in an ungodly world. Promises
from the Olive Tree lovingly
explores the practical meaning of perhaps the Bible’s most exquisite
extended metaphor. Come

the noble olive tree.
Noreen Jacks’ book is full of motivational and practical
information for parents who wish to shape the growth of their own young
olive plants. Promises

ENDORSEMENTS:
"This book will give you the VISION to
raise well-behaved children, shattering the myth that kids can become ‘good’
adults without consistent, purposeful training. Noreen Jacks lays out a
sumptuous feast for parents and would-be parents with God’s nourishing
lessons from the olive tree. Read this book to become a better parent.
Give it to an expectant couple to equip them from the start. While few
pastors teach parenting skills, this outstanding book has the POWER to
shape fathers and mothers to be good shepherds and their children to
become trees of righteousness. Get ready for a delightful tapestry
of truth!"
Randy Thomasson, President, Campaign for Children and Families
Sacramento, California
"Promises from the Olive Tree is a
passionate plea for modern Christian parents to learn the simple,
trustworthy, agricultural lessons of God’s chosen people in the ancient
Promised Land of Israel, and to apply them to raising God-fearing children
in our now complex and confused world. Noreen Jacks has shown, in a
wonderfully insightful and inspiring way, how we must diligently and
lovingly cultivate these young olive plants whom God has blessed us
with in order to raise up wise, mature trees which will have a godly and
lasting influence on our nation and culture."
Paul H. Dilgard, M.A., M.S., Professor, American River College
"Noreen Jacks has created a
delightful, but deeply spiritual and thought-provoking account of promises
from the olive tree. It offers insightful advice for raising children
through imagery of this versatile tree, Even though my children are now
mature adults, I found it spiritually edifying and rich in visual images
of ancient Israel."
Dr. Anne Davis, Professor of Biblical Studies, Trinity Southwest
University, Albuquerque, N. M., Dean, BibleInteract Institute, http://www.bibleinteract.com
"If you’ve ever wondered why olives and olive oil are so
prominent in the Bible, you need to read this book. Noreen Jacks has done
us all a great service by lovingly and passionately exploring the
practical meaning of perhaps the most exquisite extended metaphor in all
of the Bible. Although life in our modern western world has largely
ignored the noble olive tree, in the ancient world it occupied center
stage. God marvelously designed the olive to overflow with rich symbolic
meaning. Much of what God wants us to know about being Christian parents
can be learned by following Noreen on this unique guided tour through her
olive garden."
Ronald Kingham, Th.M., Pastor, Adjunct
Professor,
William Jessup University
"To say that I learned from Noreen
Jacks’ Olive Tree class would be an understatement. Her class
series, her book, and ongoing mentorship are full of practical information
for my upcoming life of marriage, motherhood, and mentorship for others. I
continue to impact others’ lives because of Noreen’s teachings. Since
taking her classes and reading Promises from the Olive Tree, I have
begun several ministries in Alaska and Washington."
Deborah Lautt, Church on the Rock International, Minister,
Hospital Chaplain
"I wish I had read this book when my sons were growing up. This
invaluable information would have made such a difference in my
perspective. The author is to be commended for her thorough study of the
subject matter as well as her love for the Lord, which is so evident in
this book."
Mary Beck, Chairperson of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Hayward, CA
"Using her travels to the Holy Land, her experiences of mothering
four sons, and her Biblical applications related to the Olive Tree, Noreen
Jacks offers hope to all who read, Promises From The Olive Tree and
are struggling with faith and parenting. This book is provocative, clear,
and down to earth in its suggestions for living according to God’s
standards."
